At ICS, we developed Tasting/Testing to model our approach to cannabis appreciation, it’s curious, informed, and rooted in real-world experience. In this series, we review cannabis products just like any consumer would: straight from the open market, with no special samples or behind-the-scenes access. If you can buy it, we’ll try it.

We don’t just talk about how the products make us feel, we measure what’s actually in them. Using the Orange Photonics LightLab 3 HS Cannabis Analyzer, a portable HPLC analyzer, we quantify the cannabinoid content of every product we test. This gives us a clearer picture of what’s going on inside the can, jar, or edible, and helps us better understand the link between numbers and experience.

But numbers aren’t everything. The experience of consuming cannabis is shaped by more than just THC percentages. Flavor, formulation, freshness, and even packaging quirks can have a big impact on the outcome. That’s why Tasting/Testing blends scientific analysis with candid reviews, light-hearted commentary, and a healthy dose of skepticism.
