The Institute of Cannabis Science is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts! Our board of directors held its first meeting on October 21. Among the actions taken were approval of the structure of the board, with Jeff Rawson as chairman, Michael Kahn as treasurer and secretary, and Trent Hancock as a director. Jeff Rawson was hired as president of the Institute.
The Institute was founded to produce the data that society needs to manage cannabis. Three complementary activities were named in our inaugural meeting:
1. Monitoring the products in markets for cannabis using off-the-shelf testing.
2. Monitoring the regulatory success of markets using analyses of aggregated test results from public records.
3. Openly communicating all data and results to all, including consumers, regulators, and scientists.
